Play

Scotland

I am a member at Royal Dornoch so I may be a bit biased when it comes to golf in Scotland. For me it is not just the birthplay of the game I love so much, but also the perfect combination of stunning golf courses, the most amazing landscapes and a warm hospitality hard to find somewhere else.

Ireland

Bundoran in Co. Donegal was the first place I played internationally. This was in 2008. I returned a couple of times since then and enjoyed the time on and off the fairways.

United States

I have played a couple of courses while traveling this big country with my wife. From the mountain layouts in Colorado to the desert courses in Arizona, I have only good thoughts when it comes to golfing on the other side of the pond.

Spain

Golfing in Spain for me is a good opportunity to start the season earlier, then it would be possible here in Switzerland or in the south of Germany. I played a couple of courses in Majorca in January and liked most of them. But have a look yourself.

Portugal

Another classical destination for Snowbirds from the more northern parts of Europe. My Portuguese golfing experiences are from journeys both to Madeira and the Azores and some stunning mainland destinations. Golf is great there. And so is hiking, whale watching, exploring outstanding flora, wine – you name it.

Beyond

In this section I have collected some courses in other countries that seem remarkable to me for one reason or another. There is a lot of Germany in there. But that may change in time.
