The Westin La Paloma wouldn't exactly be my first choice, but in the combination of an okay hotel and a good golf course in the immediate vicinity, it has its qualities. Especially since the La Paloma Country Club would otherwise have kept its gates closed. Private. Room rates in August start at around $180 but jump to over $400 from September. (Photo © Westin)
