I really cross fingers that the Castel Hotel will remain a vital part of the Dornoch hospitality scene. Situated right in the middle of the beautiful village, the former home of the Bishop of Caithness was the first hotel I ever stayed in Dornoch. Some of the rooms might be in need of a renovation, but overall it is such a friendly place that you should turn a blind eye to this. The multiple award-winning bar is one of the best in Scotland.
