I played one of my worst rounds of golf ever on this course, which I would describe as one of the most beautiful I’ve ever played on. The visitor information I received in advance had already highlighted the numerous blind shots, and indeed there are quite a few. However, this doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of playing on the course, which was originally designed by Davy Grant and Mungo Park in 1892. I didn’t feel that any of the shots were unfair. But it's best to see for yourself. It's particularly worthwhile visiting in the next few days, as I’ve hidden some brand-new golf balls in the rough at a few spots for future players to find. With a green fee of just £120, Silloth on Solway offers excellent value for money. This may be due to its location at the very tip of Cumbria, but why not combine your trip with a visit to Sutherness GC on the other side of the Solway Firth and enjoy a great weekend off the beaten track?
