Castelconturbia Golf Club is located south of Lake Maggiore, about 3 1/2 hours from my adopted home of Zurich. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and has hosted the Italian Open several times. Golf has been played here since 1898. However, the current design dates back to the 1980s. What I really like about the course is that you can still play here when all the courses in Switzerland are covered in a thick layer of snow.
